Resumen

La dependencia de existencia garantiza integridad semántica entre las propiedades estáticas y dinámicas de los datos. En los esquemas relacionales, se modela a través de las llaves foráneas y su comportamiento. A pesar de su utilidad para la modelación de datos, tanto en ambientes centralizados como en ambientes distribuidos, en la literatura tal propiedad se describe de forma intuitiva y generalmente no aparece debidamente abordada. En este material se hace un análisis de las construcciones en el modelo Entidad Relación Extendido que reflejan de alguna manera dependencia de existencia, se modela su comportamiento en esquemas relacionales, sobre la base de sus particularidades y se analiza la aplicación de la dependencia de existencia en asociaciones para la fragmentación horizontal derivada en el marco de Bases de Datos Distribuidas. Esta monografía puede servir como apoyo a la docencia de pregrado y postgrado en temas avanzados de Bases de Datos
